Nigerian gospel producer Ko’rale brings in Afro-gospel voice Greatman Takit for a faith-filled new record titled “NO WEAPON.” The pair has history, and this one feels familiar.
Ko’rale and Greatman Takit first teamed up on “Commando,” which praised God’s greatness. “NO WEAPON” carries that spirit forward, but the focus shifts to protection. The title borrows the biblical promise that weapons formed against believers won’t prevail.
Ko’rale is also a producer and mix engineer, so the sound comes out clean. The groove keeps a steady Afro-gospel pulse, and the instruments leave room for the voices. It runs longer than usual, so the worship mood has time to settle.
Ko’rale brings calm confidence to the vocals. His delivery stays warm, and he keeps the melody simple. Because of that, anyone can sing along on first listen.
Greatman Takit adds the Afro-gospel flavour he’s known for, and his voice lifts the record. The Leave Am and Energy crooner knows how to carry a hook. Meanwhile, the message stays simple, because faith beats fear.
This one works because the faith message feels sincere. Although it’s gospel, the Afro touch keeps it easy on the ear.
