Lil Baby drops his first solo single of 2026 today, titled “Dead Fresh”, and he called in Pharrell Williams to produce it.
Pharrell Williams produced it, and the timing makes perfect sense. Pharrell currently serves as Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director. So the song actually premiered at LV’s Spring-Summer 2027 runway show in Paris. Lil Baby sat front row while the beat played during the presentation. That’s a different kind of rollout.
The record is pure luxury rap. Baby talks Cartier, Chanel, Maybach motorcades, and dressing his nanny in designer pieces. At one point he even raps, “this beat came from Pharrell,” which lands differently when you understand the context. Also, Pharrell’s signature four-note motif opens the whole thing before the beat drops properly.
At just two minutes, “Dead Fresh” stays short and direct. It doesn’t overstay its welcome. Baby glides through the bars with that relaxed confidence he carries on flex records. But this one feels elevated because of who made the beat and where it debuted.
After features with Veeze, 42 Dugg, and DJ Khaled earlier this year, this solo drop reminds everyone what Baby sounds like alone.
Listen and enjoy the song “Dead Fresh” now. The full music video drops Monday.
