Mavins Records puts their newer generation together on “Signs,” combining Sevn, Lovn, Egertton, and TAR1Q on one record, and it’s a proper introduction for anyone who hasn’t been keeping track of what the label has been building quietly.
TAR1Q has already been making noise with “Money” this week, currently sitting at number two on the trending charts. Lovn has been building anticipation since that Guardian feature earlier this year where he talked about going global with his indigenous sound. Sevn and Egertton round out a lineup that feels deliberately put together rather than randomly assembled.
What “Signs” does well is give each artist a moment without the record feeling like four separate songs stitched together.
Don Jazzy has always had an ear for chemistry between artists, and “Signs” feels like the result of him watching these four develop separately and deciding the right time had come to let them share space on the same record.
Currently sitting at number eight on the trending charts, “Signs” is already moving. Stream “Mavins – Signs” now and get familiar with Mavin’s next wave.
