Tanzanian Singeli artist Meja Kunta drops a new single titled “Segerea.” The Bxtra Records signee keeps building on his growing catalog of hits.
Segerea’s a real place in Dar es Salaam, known locally for its prison. That title choice suggests something gritty or deeply rooted in street reality.
Meja Kunta’s been on a serious run lately. His hit “Demu Wangu” dominated charts, and “Chuu” made history as the first Singeli track featuring an international collaborator.
He’s also teased an upcoming collaboration with rapper Chidi Benz, showing real ambition to blend Singeli with hip hop. That genre-crossing approach defines his current moment.
Expect that signature Singeli intensity here, driving percussion and breathless delivery. This track likely continues that same unfiltered street perspective.
By the end, “Segerea” plays like another intense, reality-driven Singeli record from Tanzania’s rising voice. Raw, direct, rooted in real street culture.
