South African singer-songwriter Mnqobi Yazo delivers “Uthando,” a fresh Afro House single that blends uplifting beats with heartfelt lyrics. The title translates to “love,” and the whole record leans into that celebratory energy.
Mnqobi Yazo’s built his sound around blending maskandi, isicathamiya-style drawl and Afro-pop, drawing from influences like Bhekumuzi Luthuli and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. “Uthando” continues that fusion, this time leaning into Afro House rhythms. His catalogue keeps growing steadily, and this one adds another infectious entry. It plays like a fitting addition to any summer playlist.
Add “Uthando” to your playlist if soulful, celebratory Afro House speaks to you today.
