Tanzanian Hip-Hop legend Mwana FA breaks a near four-year silence with a deeply reflective new single titled “Baraka Nyingi.”

Four years is a long time to go quiet when you’ve built the kind of catalog Mwana FA has. Real name Hamis Mwinjuma, he came up through East Coast Team alongside A.Y and GK, helped shape what Bongo Flava sounded like in its formative years, and has since added Member of Parliament for Muheza to his identity. Somewhere between the music and the politics, the solo releases stopped – until now.

“Baraka Nyingi” translates to “many blessings,” and the choice of that title for a comeback single says something intentional. He isn’t returning with a diss track or a club banger. He’s coming back with gratitude, which actually fits the version of Mwana FA who’s spent recent years in public service rather than in studios.

The writing stays reflective throughout, built around recognizing the different experiences and seasons that shape a life rather than just tallying wins. For someone who has navigated both music industry peaks and the demands of national politics, that perspective feels earned rather than performed.

Tanzania’s Hip-Hop scene has shifted significantly in four years, but Mwana FA’s voice still carries a weight most newer artists haven’t had time to build yet.
