Maskandi singer Ntencane joyfully celebrates being chosen on “UKHETHE MINA,” the fifth track on his 16-song album “Awuyiphumuze.”

The Zulu title means “you chose me,” and the song repeats that line like a chant. It opens quietly, with a hush among the people around him, and then he says he is deep in love. The repeated phrase turns into the main hook, so the track feels like a thank-you and a celebration at once. The record runs five minutes and 20 seconds, which gives the chant room to build.

Listeners have noticed. More than 350,000 Shazams show how often people stop to find out what the song is. They discover it most around the three-and-a-half-minute mark, when the chant lifts. Audiomack lists the album under Mkhosanah Developments, and The Orchard handled distribution, which helps the song reach wider streaming audiences. Meezki describes the single as a mix of love and decision-making, and an uplifting anthem for dance floors.

“Awuyiphumuze” carries more of Ntencane’s range. “Love Language” brings in Naledi Aphiwe, “Ngiyazifela Ngawe” features Thee Legacy, and “Khotha La” pays tribute to Mjikjelwa. So “UKHETHE MINA” sits among duets, tributes, and love songs, and it keeps the album’s warm tone.

Maskandi has always handled love in plain, heartfelt words, and this song follows that path. For listeners who like fast, celebratory guitar music with an emotional centre, it is an easy favourite.
