Within the Ama-Nudes EP, “Khona Abaphakamisayo” arrives right after the title track. So while “Ama-Nudes” opens the project with a bold, contemporary statement, this second record shifts the energy toward something warmer and more reflective. That contrast is exactly what makes the sequencing of the EP feel deliberate rather than accidental.
The record blends Quality Biyela’s signature Maskandi guitar work with an uplifting spiritual atmosphere. The Zulu cultural roots stay intact throughout, but the mood is open and accessible enough to pull in listeners beyond the traditional Maskandi fanbase. That crossover quality has always been one of his quiet strengths.
Across both the Ama-Nudes and Nizolala Nidakiwe projects, Quality Biyela has shown consistent range without once losing his identity. “Khona Abaphakamisayo” is one of the more emotionally generous records he has put out this year.
This song is an amazing bop that you’ll vibe with all day and all night long.
