Limpopo extraordinaire Shandesh teams up with Hitboss SA and Nkosazana Daughter on a high-energy new single titled “Mpepe,” released under Shandesh Music.
Shandesh is a household name in the Bolobedu music scene. Her For The Queens EP and a long string of vibrant Lekompo records have built her a loyal following across Limpopo and beyond. But “Mpepe” is a different kind of move. Pulling in Nkosazana Daughter – one of the most recognisable voices in South African Amapiano – is not just a collab. It is a bridge between two worlds that do not always meet on the same record.
That cross-genre energy is exactly what makes “Mpepe” interesting. Lekompo’s fast electronic drums and heavy basslines sit alongside Nkosazana Daughter’s smooth, soulful vocal texture. The two sounds do not clash – they complement each other in a way that opens the song up to a much wider audience than either artist would reach alone.
