Benin City singer Tega Boi DC opens his EP “SOL” with “eyes & soul,” a heartbreak song fans search for.
The three-track project came out under Plutomania Records, and this song leads it. Early tags describe a mood of pain and heartbreak, and fans on TikTok have been typing lines about “pain in my eyes” into search bars. One lyric explainer there has pulled in nearly 97,000 likes. So listeners clearly connected with the writing before many had heard the full EP.
Tega Boi DC works in Afrosounds, and he often mixes melodic singing with the casual phrasing heard on Nigerian streets. That blend keeps a sad song from sounding stiff. He can sing about hurt in the same tone he would use with a friend, which makes the story feel closer.
