Whally teams up with BhadBoi OML on “Young Alhaji,” a street-pop record that built buzz on TikTok before it dropped.
The rollout was simple. Both artists shared an early snippet and asked fans to make videos with it. BhadBoi OML set a target of 1,000 videos under the sound. One of his clips pulled 35.8K likes. A post from Whally also passed 5,000 likes. So people were already singing along before the full song arrived.
BhadBoi OML has been busy as a guest this year. He appeared on “Indica” with Otega and “Pami” with Balloranking. He also jumped on the “Barcelona (Remix)” with Koshera. But “Young Alhaji” puts him next to a newer name, and that gives the record a fresh angle.
Whally leads with street melodies. BhadBoi OML adds his melodic, yearning touch. The record stays in accessible Nigerian street-pop, with Afrobeats energy running through it. Dosh Entertainment Empire and FPR Ltd handle the release.
Challenge-led rollouts only work when the hook sticks. Here, the early clips suggest it did. Also, it shows how a rising artist can use a strong feature to open doors.
