Fans of Xduppy had already been waiting weeks for “Wait Jackalas,” and it finally drops, featuring Optimist Music ZA.
These two are not strangers. They have crossed paths before on “Ke tlhapetswi,” “Fada Xmas Akekho” with Tyler ICU and Benzoo, and “iKhekhe” with EeQue and Al Xapo. So when Xduppy kept his teaser caption short and just wrote “jackalas,” his audience already knew to trust whatever was coming.
Xduppy has built one of the most impressive production runs in South African Amapiano over the past two years. Projects like “Umswenko EP,” “JOY,” “Ngomoya,” and “Rough Dance” gave him credibility across both underground and mainstream Amapiano circles. Also, Optimist Music ZA brings his own Pretoria roots and energy to the collaboration, having built recognition through “iKhekhe” and “Stance” within the same creative scene.
“Wait Jackalas” drops today on Fakaza and all major platforms after the release date was pushed back from July 17. But also, the delay only seemed to make the anticipation stronger.
