Daveyton star Young Stunna delivers “Busisiwe,” a 16-track, 108-minute Amapiano album arriving five years after his debut “Notumato.”
The project is long on purpose. Many songs pass six or seven minutes, and “Eduze Kwami” stretches past nine, so listeners get the slow-building piano grooves that Piano Hub fans love. ZAtunes says the album stays mostly Amapiano, with a few songs leaning toward 3-Step and hip-hop. The label that released it, Piano Hub, belongs to Kabza De Small, and Sony Music Entertainment Africa distributed it. Sandile Msimango, the artist’s real name, wrote or co-wrote every song.
The guest list is huge. SLY threads through the record on “Balinde,” “Busisiwe,” “Amanxeba,” “Umuhle,” “Umshini,” “Imali,” and the outro, while Kabza De Small appears on more than half the tracks. Blxckie opens the album, Mthunzi and Tracy join on “Umuhle,” and Focalistic appears twice, on “Umlenze” and “Amasosha.” DJ Maphorisa, Zee Nxumalo, Mellow & Sleazy, and Nkulee501 also take turns. So the album plays like a gathering of the Amapiano family.
The shape is easy to follow. The first half builds a patient, romantic mood, the middle fills with collaborations, and the end slows down again with “Tatami” and the quiet “Emhlabeni (Outro).” For fans who want a full session, not a quick sample, this is a rewarding listen.
