Mavin Records princess, Ayra Starr kicks off her third studio album “Starrgirl” with “Dangerous,” a bold statement of how far she’s come.
The title choice is deliberate. Ayra debuted in 2021 with “19 & Dangerous,” and opening this new era with a song called “Dangerous” is not a coincidence. It nods back to where her career started without repeating it. This is a woman who has already made her point once and is now choosing to make it again, differently.
Context makes this opener land even harder. Ayra enters “Starrgirl” fresh off a massive 2025 – her song “Rush” crossed 500 million Spotify streams, making her the first African female artist with two songs to hit that number. She also picked up two MOBO Awards and her first BET Award. So when she calls herself “Dangerous” here, the achievements behind her make it feel earned rather than boastful.
Stream “Dangerous” and tell us in the comments – does this opener convince you Starrgirl is her most confident era yet?
