Mavin Records star Ayra Starr closes out her third album “Starrgirl” with Venezuelan artist Danny Ocean on the remix of “Hot Body.”

The choice to close the album this way says something. Rather than ending on a ballad or a reflective note, Ayra chose to go outward, collaborative, and international. “Hot Body” first landed in 2025 as one of the defining Afropop singles of that summer, with Le Monde Afrique famously calling it a “concentrate of sensuality.” So bringing a fresh voice into the record for the album version was never about reinventing it. It was about extending its reach.

Danny Ocean brings that extension to life. His Latin-pop influence adds a different cultural accent to the track, but the remix never turns into a wholesale reimagining. Ayra keeps the same confidence and sensuality that made the original connect, while Danny Ocean’s Spanish-infused delivery widens who the song speaks to. The rhythm and attitude stay intact throughout.

This is not Ayra’s first cross-continental move either. “Starrgirl” also features Theodora, Leon Thomas, and ZAYN, all part of a deliberate pattern of pulling international voices into her Afrobeats foundation. Closing with Danny Ocean fits that same instinct – expansion without dilution.

Sixteen tracks, one closing statement about how far her sound can travel. Stream “Hot Body (Remix)” and let us know in the comments – Afrobeats and Latin pop, does the mix work for you?
