South African DJ DeejayKgosi wraps up his five-track EP “Chairman” with “Kuyabekezelwa,” bringing Lington, ilovelethu, Civil Soul, Kaotic Kayy, and Priddy Man-Kay together for the closing statement.
The title translates to “there must be patience,” and that message carries real weight positioned at the end of a five-track project. DeejayKgosi does not close “Chairman” on a party anthem alone. He lets patience frame the final word, which gives the EP a more grounded finish than its earlier, higher-energy cuts like “Iparty.”
Civil Soul’s presence adds something fresh to this closing lineup. While Lington, ilovelethu, Kaotic Kayy, and Priddy Man-Kay appear repeatedly across “Chairman,” Civil Soul steps in specifically here, bringing a voice the rest of the EP has not used yet. That choice keeps the final track from feeling like a rehash of earlier chemistry.
Sonically, the record leans into warm, rhythm-driven Amapiano built for repeat listening rather than a single loud moment. DeejayKgosi lets each voice settle into its own space, so the six-artist closer never feels crowded despite the size of the credits.
“Chairman” ends on patience rather than a victory lap, which says something about the project’s whole approach – what did the EP’s final message leave you thinking?
