South African DJ DeejayKgosi joins Philharmonic, Priddy Man-Kay, Kaotic Kayy, and Leora on “Ntombi Yami,” the second track off his five-song EP “Chairman.”

The title translates from Zulu to “My Girl,” and this record slows down after the fuller-cast opener “Izenzo.” Running just over six minutes, DeejayKgosi and Philharmonic build a smooth, log-drum-driven instrumental that leans into atmosphere rather than urgency, letting the romantic theme breathe throughout the runtime.

Leora carries the emotional center of the track, and her presence marks a notable shift here. While Kaotic Kayy and Priddy Man-Kay appear across nearly every song on “Chairman,” Leora and Philharmonic show up specifically on “Ntombi Yami,” giving this track its own distinct vocal identity within the EP. That combination lets DeejayKgosi explore a softer register than the party energy found later on “Iparty.”

What makes this one work is the balance between devotion and groove. DeejayKgosi does not sacrifice the Amapiano foundation to chase a ballad feel. Instead, warm melodies and layered production carry both the love song and the dancefloor instinct at once, without either side pulling too hard against the other.

Track two shows “Chairman” has range beyond its party cuts – does this softer side of the EP land as well for you as the higher-energy tracks?
