Rising Afro-fusion artist Dessie delivers a sun-soaked standout on “Magaluf,” the second track from his debut “Realer” EP.

The title reference to the infamous Majorcan party destination sets the mood immediately – carefree, hedonistic, and built for the summer. But Dessie does not make it a simple party record. The production blends Afro-fusion textures with contemporary melodic pop in a way that gives the track warmth and replay quality beyond just a seasonal listen.

His vocal delivery stays relaxed and confident throughout. So “Magaluf” never feels forced or overworked. It sits in that specific lane where Afrobeats and lifestyle pop meet naturally – the kind of record that works at a rooftop session, a beach playlist, or even a car ride with the windows down. The effortless quality in the performance is what carries the track from enjoyable to memorable.

Within the “Realer” EP, “Magaluf” provides important tonal contrast. The project moves through multiple emotional registers and “Magaluf” is its most unbothered moment – a record that does not carry any weight except the pleasure of the feeling it creates. That lightness is deliberate and serves the EP’s overall balance well.

Dessie’s 2026 output also includes “443” with Sterlingouttapocket and “Malfunction Afrofusion” – each showing a young artist still finding his range but doing so with real creative instinct.
