Zambian Gifted star T-Sean teams up with Young Kay and Flex Zm on “Chimanibaba,” from his EP “Woke Up Missing You.”
The EP is a five-track tribute, and T-Sean built it after the passing of his wife, Sharai. Most of it sits in quiet, reflective territory. “Mutima Wakana” and “Tears Tequila Shots” carry the grief head-on. So “Chimanibaba” lands as the lift in the tracklist.
That contrast is what makes it work. Instead of another slow record, T-Sean pulls in two fellow Zambian acts and lets the energy open up. Young Kay and Flex Zm bring different textures, and the three voices trade the spotlight without crowding each other. Melodic hooks sit beside sharper rap deliveries, so the song moves between warmth and edge.
There is also something human about a project like this making room for a little joy. Grief rarely stays in one register, and the EP reflects that. “Chimanibaba” gives listeners a moment to breathe between the heavier songs.
For Zambian music fans following T-Sean through this chapter, this one shows the full range of the project.
Stream “Chimanibaba” and tell us – does the lighter energy help the EP land even harder?
