Mzansi hitmakers TNK MusiQ bring in ZANI and Serenita for a sweet new record titled “Honey.” The South African amapiano duo keeps the releases coming after “Hayi Baleka” and the Le Premier Chapitre EP. Romance sits at the centre this time.
ZANI isn’t new to the camp, since “Tholukuthi” also carried that name. Serenita is the fresh addition, so the mix feels balanced. As a result, the record gets a proper duet feel.
The production stays smooth and warm. Soft keys glide over a deep bass, while crisp percussion adds movement. Still, the arrangement leaves plenty of space.
TNK MusiQ build the groove with patience. Their drums come in early, yet they never overpower the vocals. That restraint keeps the mood sweet.
ZANI opens with an easy, relaxed delivery. Then Serenita answers with a lighter tone, so the two voices bounce off each other. The lyrics stay on love and affection, and the message stays simple.
Altogether, “Honey” plays like a date-night song for Mzansi lovers. It’s sweet without turning sappy. Nothing feels stretched.
