Nigerian Afro-fusion star BNXN officially announces his upcoming EP “Still In Charge,” set to drop in September 2026.
The title carries real weight in context. On his sophomore album “Captain,” BNXN told Rolling Stone that in good storms and bad storms, he is still in charge. So naming this EP after that very declaration is not an accident. It reads like a direct continuation of the mindset he brought to “Captain” – confident, self-assured, and unwilling to settle for second position in the Afrobeats conversation.
This also marks his second major project of 2026. So far this year, he has kept his momentum going through the “Eja Meja” collaboration with Asake and the BNXN x Sarz joint EP “The Game Needs Us.” But “Still In Charge” positions him back in full solo mode, which is where a lot of fans have been waiting to see him operate again.
The project also expands a back catalogue that includes fan favourites like “Sorry I’m Late,” “Bad Since ’97,” and “Sincerely, Benson.” Each project added something new. So the expectation for this one is already high, and the EP announcement alone has sparked solid online engagement.
Although only “Eja Meja” with Asake appears confirmed as part of the tracklist so far, the full lineup will firm up as September approaches. The fact that it leads with arguably his most talked-about 2026 release tells you BNXN intends this project to land loud.
Tracklist so far:
1. Eja Meja Ft. Asake
