South African artist Sabza Womqulo teams up with Zuzu Key, SoulQue, DJ Gish Lama Gosh, Tycoon F, and Ama Grootman on JONAS.
Six voices on one record is no small feat. But this crew already knows each other’s sound, so the chemistry lands fast.
Sabza Womqulo’s sound leans into the Sgija and Amapiano space, built around deep groove and raw percussion. Heavy log drum patterns speak directly to township dance culture. JONAS carries that same foundation, though the arrangement leans lighter than some of his other records.
Zuzu Key and SoulQue bring melodic touches. DJ Gish Lama Gosh, Tycoon F and Ama Grootman round things out instead.
Each artist here has built a name within the Amapiano and Sgija space. Their earlier records together, including Mayilele and Bana Ba Straata, show how well they work as a unit. That same chemistry carries into JONAS.
