Grammy-nominated Houston rapper Tobe Nwigwe drops “PERFECTION” featuring Flavour and C.S. Armstrong, produced by Tierce “Kizzo.”
This is track six on his upcoming album “The Bridge,” dropping August 21 via Human Re Sources. But also, it works perfectly as a standalone single because the concept behind it is that clear. Tobe himself put it plainly: perfection isn’t the absence of flaws. It’s recognizing the extraordinary within imperfect people who shaped who you are.
Flavour brings his signature Highlife warmth to the record, singing in Igbo across the chorus. His contribution gives “PERFECTION” a cultural texture that Houston rap rarely carries. C.S. Armstrong adds soul-driven vocals that bridge both worlds naturally, while Tobe’s reflective lyricism ties the whole thing together without getting too abstract.
The record follows “All or Nothing” with Labrinth in the “Bridge” rollout. So the album is already showing serious range before it even fully arrives. Also, Tobe previewed material at an intimate Blue Note NYC session earlier this year, which only deepened the anticipation.
Houston meets Nigeria on one record, and both sides show up fully. How often does that actually happen this cleanly?
Listen to “Tobe Nwigwe – PERFECTION Ft. Flavour & C.S. Armstrong” now and start counting down to August 21.
