Nigerian-American rapper Tobe Nwigwe teams up with Adekunle Gold and American rapper K CAMP on a transatlantic record titled “ULTRASOUND.”
The song sits at track four on “THE BRIDGE,” a 12-song album built around links between Nigeria and America. Here, that idea gets a very literal cast. Tobe and K CAMP represent the American side, while Adekunle Gold brings Nigerian pop craft to the middle.
The credits tell a fuller story than the billing does. They list K CAMP under his legal name, Kristopher Thomas Campbell, and Adekunle Gold as Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko. Producer Kizzo appears too, as Tierce Kizzo Person. Writers and contributors such as Kingsley Chukwudi Okorie, Benjamin Chukwudi James, Alalade Adekite, Rachael Akanji, and Saviour Eni Ezeoke also appear. So many hands touched the record, even though three names carry the title.
Placement adds context. “CHOP” with The Cavemen sits at track two, and “ALL OR NOTHING” with Labrinth follows right after “ULTRASOUND.” So this track works as a hinge between the album’s highlife corner and its bigger international features.
Tobe has also built a pattern of Nigerian links beyond this album. He appears on ODUMODUBLVCK’s “HALLELUJAH” and on Bien’s “All My Enemies Are Suffering” remix. That history makes Adekunle Gold’s invitation feel earned rather than random.
